1929 Ford Model A Special Coupe Recently a friend of mine who was very ill, asked me to purchase his Model A. He has since passed and I am putting the car up for sale. While there are a few non original parts, the coupe is very complete. It was recently inspected and has a clean New York State transferable registration. I am not an expert in Model A’s, but I have been restoring cars for about 60 years. Here is what I know about the car. It is all original Ford steel with no rust outs. Some minor body work has been done and the body can be ready for paint using spot putty and primer. The rumble lid is one of the best I have seen. The doors open and close easily and fit well. They have small patches installed on the bottoms. Fenders and running boards are excellent. Fenders had a couple of bead breaks which were repaired by replacing the beads with new wire and welding the small cracks. All widow glass is good without cracks. The vinyl top has been professionally replaced and is really nice. I believe the front top molding is wrong, but is an easy fix. I checked all four brake drums and brake shoes. All are in really good condition. Car stops well with foot pedal or hand brake. Gas tank is clean with no leaks. Wiring is new with several protective fuses. Lights and horn work as they should. Light and horn switches are modern type. The radiator is a new aluminum model and the car runs cool. The engine is a factory replacement with no serial number. It starts very quickly and runs well. Wheels and tires are modern, but the car comes with six original wheels. I would be happy to answer all questions and to send more pictures. $7800. Contact Neil at [email protected]
