Here's a different chop or not to chop scenario.

I played with a couple of roadsters from back in the day and put them on the cover of Hot Rod magazine.

    Thanks Geoff !
I have a project that has also taken a lot longer to finish than I thought it would so I understand and hope you can soon get back on the build!
    Until then, more covers please!

    Hey there folks,

My name is Ché and I am looking to join a hot rod club in Melbourne, Australia. I'm 35 and just bought a 1930 Model A Roadster. Would love to find a bunch of people around my age with an interest in traditional hot rods. This is my first build and it would be great to find a group that know a bit about the art and like to have a beer. Any tips?

    Cheers
    Ché.

Hey Che', I am a couple of hours east of Melbourne.
I think you best bet initially is to go to events/shows around Melbourne and ask questions make yourself known. I know this can be a bit hard for some people to do, but it does work.
Australian Street Rodding and Cruisin magazines have lists of events, so that will give you an idea what and where things are happening,
Maybe try OZ Rodders site. It is not a totally traditional site like this, but it will provide information and a place to ask questions. There are many guys from the Melbourne area on that site.
    I hope this helps.

God I love old books shops, fossicking around and you strike gold in the form of a pile of old hot rod magazines. I came up with this gem.

This one isn't nearly as old as most of the magazines I have been recently coming across, but it is neat just the same.

So it's the weekend of the Port Fairy rod run. A great time was being had by all, as usual, With many people just hanging out at Rita and Tony's most of the weekend, which had become a tradition; really.
But something had been missing, well actually SpencerT and Jude hadn't been around at all. Which in itself was very strange. Renee' and Sam weren't forthcoming with an answer. So who knows where the boys were.
Well it's late Sunday afternoon and only a few people remained just still hanging out in Tony's shed. But those of us who were still there could hear a rumbling coming down the road. So we all come out of the shed and see Jude pull up in a bitchin matt black '32 5W. Jude pulls up and gets out with a smile from ear to ear. We are all just shaking our heads. But we say, where's your brother? Jude just says, ah he'll be along soon enough. It is then we hear the obvious burbling of a worked flathead and then see this maroon 5W turn into the street. It could only be one person. Spencer T pulls up, right in the middle of the road beside his brother's 5W.
We all are just standing there shaking our heads. It seems the boys had been locked away in the South West Speed Shop trying to get their coupes going for this very weekend.
Is this a dream or just something that dreams are made of? You be the judge.

  17. Jeez, if I were given the choice between those two five windows I think I'd be hard pressed to choose. They're both cool in their own very different styles.

    Thanks for that Gary.
I have done nearly 500 of them now. Obviously I do enjoy doing them. For me I think it is all about the creativity and honing my limited skills on a program that isn't really designed to do what I am doing with it. But it works for me and I like the challenge of making it do things it's not designed to do.

Probably not the best cover I have done. But is a neat image of this 3W, that I wanted to use.
