    Something I've never done.
Not very savvy in that department.....yet!!!
The shop is going to do it for this time in order to insure proper function and warranty any issues if any.
    I'm learning....I guess it's a first step :cool::D

Not the exact seated position as there still was a reinforcement bar behind me:

Great looking truck. I'm curious if you have beefed up or plan to beef up the S10 T-5 to handle the torque of the 348?

We removed the '37 Ford truck dash and inserted a '37 car dash instead.
Then used the top of the old truck dash, reversed it and welded it where the front windshield header use to be. I thought that was a brilliant idea from skunkvictim (Binbrook Speed Shop in Canada). As the original header was quite damaged, this was a quick fix adding a touch of "cool"

So far I'm using the S10 T-5 as is.
I haven't approached that subject yet with the engine shop.
I was told that the ratios balance out with the tire size being very different.
I don't know how much truth there is to that statement.

It should do just fine, much stronger than the old transmissions everyone used to use.

That's what I was also told on the 348-409 forum.

The reason I asked is that I just went through this issue myself. Of course, a lot depends on how your engine is built, how you intend to run it, vehicle weight and what gearing and tires you'll use. It would be a good idea to verify the torque capability of your specific T-5 and see how that relates to the torque of your engine. Beyond that, there are several T-5 sources that offer various improvements to enhance HP & torque capability.

Please do share some of these sources. I won't put together something that I'll regret immediately after a few drives!!!

earlymopar, thanks a bunch. Spoke to my motor guy and from the looks of it, with the weight of the car and the tires as well as the rear gear ratio we will be using, it won't be an issue. Now if I had slicks on it to drag, different story!! ;)

Just got my intake back from a guy who does silver nitrate paint process and chrome pretty much anything. When done on smooth surface, you wouldn't know the difference. I've seen it used as an alternative to chroming. It is also heat resistant to 340 F
And in this particular case the cross over passage will be blocked, so I decided to go for it.
Ground my intake down to smoothen a little.

Here is an inspiration pic of an skunkvictim's Olds Rocket motor with the chrome and color look I'm going for:

A little progress delay as we are still waiting on the motor to finish the fire wall which will allow us to finish the interior floor and cone.
WE should see it this week or next.
Nobody said getting parts was easy... Lol
Once the car drops to its lower stance due to the weight of the engine, we can add the bed skirt, finish the exhaust and get on with the pretty things I hope.
Here are some more invisible work as I call it:
Bed inner frame for woodwork. Thinking Jatoba!
    Tank location, gate install...
