Yeah I'm kinda with you but when I was planning the paint job out I really wanted to make sure the jambs matched so I stuck with the silver flake. Almost impossible to do a decent job of matching with the Kandy I think. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
And done! Well kinda. Lots of little things to do but I wanted to have it finished for our shops 60th anniversary party and we made it. I've been having a blast driving it for the past two weeks but thought I'd better update my thread Here it is on my way to work one morning At our open house And poor lighting but sunset at the beach Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Your Ranchero looks fantastic Bondo Slinger! I do have a question for you though, what gas tank did you use? Is that a Mustang tank? Where's the filler neck?
I'm partial to survivors, I used to have a 57 Ranchero that I was really into, and I haven't seen too many custom 57 Fords that I liked, especially Rancheros. When you started this thread I was thinking that if it were my car, I would leave it be, maybe just lowered, wheels, hot rod the motor. But everything you've done to this car looks great. The paint panels, the interior, everything came out fantastic. Well done. This is one custom I really dig. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Great looking ride, always loved 57 Ranchos Your time and talent was well spent, especially like the Watson style paint job. Frank
Wow! thank you guys all very much. I appreciate all your kind words! Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Yes that mustang tank was installed by my buddy who I bought the car from. You can see where the original filler neck hole was brazed up. It fills from the stock Ranchero location now. I can't remember why he said he used that tank but it works just fine. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Sure! Custom shifter hump by HAMBer Budd. He made the hump on a shrinker stretcher and then made a bezel that we had chromed. Nice little touch. Still need to make some kick panels and what not this winter. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Thank you! I'm big on details. I'll spend hours searching for just the right fastener and wait days waiting them after ordering them in or getting the perfect bends on all the hard lines etc. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Pretty easy really. I just got some spray on contact cement from the upholstery shop and glued the fur right to the original headliner. We tucked it all up tight around the edge and whah lah! Done! Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Well I seen this car in person today at a local car show. Pictures do not do it justice. The paint is incredible. No one was around when I was looking at your car otherwise I would have told you in person.
Thank you very much! Glad to hear you liked it! It was my buddy Lawrence that took the car there today as I'm down in the states for a couple weeks. It would have been nice to meet you. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
