    Steffen the Corvette above ( VIN #-2272-Sebring 1960) also still exists and is in a private collection.

    I have no experience racing indoors, so I really don't why but I see that a lot. Here's a shot of Lee Kunzman a few years later and he's not only running treads but a grooved RR also. o_O

    I don't claim any special expertise about setting up a midget for indoors, but it was not uncommon to see all sorts of weird tire combos. Left rear on right front , right front on left rear, left front on left rear. It was not as much about rubber compound or tread pattern as getting a stagger combination that would allow the car to turn in such tight radius corners. Indoor set ups, in general - both weight and tires, had little in common with outdoor set ups.

    I'm not sure what year the photo was taken, but this appears to be after Lee got burned.

    Love Field, Dallas, Texas - My dad had a cool Anglia which he called an "English Ford" stolen from that parking lot in about this time frame.
