You need to check all the connections from battery through the disconnect to starter.
Maybe the disconnect is not any good.

Will do. Thinking about isolating it. Hook things up the way it was and see what's up.

Also make sure you have big enough batt cable and if you have relocated batt to back of car make sure you run a ground directly from the battery to the engine don't do the old use the chassis and two short cables it won't be good enough you will also need one from batt to body as well even better if you run one from engine to firewall as well good grounds are very important especially if you have msd ignition stuff

Check cables. They'll corrode way back inside insulation and look fine. Fords are the pickiest about good connections. Also if you painted your fresh engine/ bellhousing the paint where starter bolts on may not be allowing a good ground. Just food for thought. It's something stupid. Almost always is

Yeah. We relocated the battery. Used big ol 1-0 cable for power. Now I'm going to run a 1-0 ground from the battery to the engine block. I have a strap from the fire wall to the block now.

update. We ran a new ground cable from the battery to the engine block. Installed a new starter solenoid. New key switch. And drumroll.........

Ignition!!! Now with all the new parts I'm not totally sure they were all the problem.
We are pretty new at the build a car thing. Both have mechanical aptitude and love gear head shit. We did not run a ground from the battery to the block beforehand. It did have one when the battery was in the stock location. Lesson learned. This may have been the biggest mistake in the whole ordeal.
Now to run a charge wire from the ALT back to the battery!
Thanks to you guys with all the ideas! Hope to take it for some test n tune Friday night and some racing on Saturday.

so i don't know if this is where to ask but since we are accepted for the h.a.m.b. drags in august, i've realized we need to decide on a class to register in. I know we're not stock anymore, so do we register in gas coupe/sedan or competition coupe/sedan? i figured most of you know what we've got going on now.

  17. They also help increase the signal to the boosters, as some is lost with the bigger plenum area of a tunnel ram. I was gonna wait to see how fast your new combo is, before I talked you into a pair of shear plates Norb. Scott, probably better try those on Sunday, I'm not sure it's a good idea to show up at the Meltdown, with anything named "shear" on your car.., DAMN BAD VOICES!

  18. Or... you could do what I did and run a belt-driven signal booster!

  23. I have two, you want a gold one, or a plain satin aluminum one. I'll trade ya a beer for it at the Meltdown.

Got the last of the stuff for tie-downs and ratchet straps for the new trailer this morning.
Picking up 15gal of C12 this afternoon.
Should be making some test passes with the car this weekend if we're extremely lucky.

Dynoed the new 464 for the Hemi Hunter yesterday. 703 HP at 6400, 626 torque at 5100. My poor stude is not gonna know what hit it. Gotta get busy and load this bullet in the chamber. Gonna be interesting with the altered wheelbase. IMG_20170608_153412856.jpg

PRO TIP: you may want to double check that you have your u-bolts and drive shaft straps tightened to the manufacturers specifications or catastrophic failure may occur....again!
