Just read an article about this. It was a different time. Anyone have one? What other interesting options can we add to this list?
My mother's '51 Studebaker Champion Starlight coupe had a self-lighting cigarette lighter. One would simply insert a cigarette into the lighter, press in the outer ring until it locked, and then wait several seconds for the ring to unlock and withdraw the lighted cigarette. My guess is that engine vacuum was part of the process.
Some old cars had a vacuum hose going to the ash tray to draw smoke out. Sent from my Moto G Play using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Man, if I wasn't a smoker, things like this would make me one! Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
My parent's golfing buds, they kept booze in the windshield washer reservoir and the hose routed inside, to make a little "drinky-poo" on the road back in the day.
Yeah, couldn't figure it out, they kept handing fresh drinks back to them. Where ya gettin' the hooch from??
You know, with all our new technology, we're really falling behind. I would love this next time I'm at a car show!
