Technical Model a door hinges

How much difference is there between 28-29 and 30-31 door hinges? I ask because I have a 30-31 sedan and it was missing the cowl side hinges. I ordered a set but they don't seem right. I installed them the way that they seemed to fit best but the door would not shut. I thought maybe they accidentally sent me earlier hinges instead. this is how they fit best. and this is how I they need to be but they are in a bind. Any input is appreciated. Thanks Brian

28/29 hinges are way different. Won't bolt on at all.

Maybe you have a two door vs. fordoor thing.

 

The second pic is the way they should go. That is how it is on my 30/31 coupe
