^Indeed they do^ Ok , where was I? Ah yes, went to dinner and got a great shot of all the cars that Tony so graciously posted.

IMG_6318.JPG Another view that my son, @ajackedywack took: I really like these, they show the diversity of the cars even though they're all model A's

Austin Fox 7 news interviewing Bobby Hilton. He didn't accidentally drop one f-bomb! We were very proud of him, lol. Jennifer the news woman was pretty happy to be out in the sun looking at hot rods and talking to fun people instead of covering a city council meeting:) IMG_6079.JPG IMG_6080.JPG IMG_6081.JPG

Alas, Saturday drew to a close. Awards were given and everyone, sunburned and foot-weary packed up and made their way to the exits, some more elegantly than others... IMG_6184.JPG These folks were very nice. The details on the engine were very creative, a fun piece!

Sunday morning we all said our good-byes, got people to the airport, and packed up to head North. Then....<%*#*¿
Front main leaf broke on the trailer. On Sunday. Well shit.
Not to fear, after Bobby getting stung by hornets, a delicous chicken dinner catered by John, and a very, err, "amply" filled out young lady informing Tony that - "He'd have a hard time fittin' ALL this sexy in that little ol' car!:D Some clamps, a pinch of welding and three heaping Tablespoons of chains and grade 8 bolts stirred up by Chef Ward and our merrie troupe (for you-Paul, lol) was on its way. (Thank you Jerry Reed, for a diabolically catchy tune involving traveling East. I caught myself humming it on more than one occasion, Even when I was traveling West...)/ATTACH] IMG_6203.JPG IMG_6204.JPG

To all you folks that stopped and talked to us and offered help in a little park in Austin, many thanks! It sure made the time pass quicker and kept us laughing!

IMG_5991.JPG I just realized I didn't mention Austin, our onboard tech/film/photo/ grapher. He had a bigger time than the rest of us possibly :)

Very cool! I got to check out your car pretty good at the bbq when yall all rolled in. That lincoln engine is impresive.i noticed alot of black all over the door from the exhaust. Hope it didnt ruin that beautiful paint job! Id put some turnouts on it

That's being addressed. I cleaned and waxed doors about every day. You're right, I love Russ's paint job and would hate to hurt it! That thing would even track exhaust several inches ahead Of the outlet, but the angle and stuff was the same as the other cars.

IMG_6325.JPG So we rolled on through to Shreveport that night with no further hold ups. A 6x2 DeSoto Hemi, a 6x2 409 Chevy, a tri-power SBC, a 8x2 Lincoln, and a blown 4x2 Olds. And not a single engine issue. We ran Hard! IMG_6215.JPG IMG_6219.JPG IMG_6220.JPG IMG_6224.JPG and they would fire up and go every time. I can't say enough about the build quality on these cars and engines.

Stopped in Delhi, La. at Wallace welding and got a little more permanent fix on the trailer. The cars took a little siesta: IMG_6236.JPG IMG_6238.JPG

We made it home to Hilton's HotRods in the middle of the night, but Bobby's wonderful wife had dinner waiting for us! She's an awesome person. IMG_6315.JPG IMG_6322.JPG

Hey JET96, I certainly enjoyed meeting you and getting a close up look at your fantastic Hot Rod Lincoln, when you and the Hilton gang stopped by Barillaro Speed! First week in April is always one of the high lights of my year when Bobby, Tony and crew come through on the way to LSRU, I'm always awed by their latest build, each one out doing the last, but yours is going to be hard to beat! You did a great job on the pictorial account of your trip, very entertaining, thanks for taking us, who didn't make the trip, along. I took a few pictures at Mike's house, but they don't do the cars justice, actually I don't think any photo could. Only reason I post these is, because I've heard "that without pictures it didn't happen"! 20170403_190732.jpg 20170403_193033.jpg

Awesome cars. What else can a guy say... So nice to see so many incredible Model As being built. Hopefully it'll show some people that a '32 isn't the be all end all of hot rods. Thanks for posting all the great pictures, what a trip!

Jeepers00-The green sedan was an old hot rod that got new life through Hilton/Lombardi. It's from the Pittsburgh area. I don't remember exactly the history of it, and I don't want to mis-speak as to its origins. They kept the same color and powertrain (sbc with 3 x2gc's). It's a really nicely finished car, with just the right amount of chrome, etc. Absolutely Killer! color in late afternoon sun as you could probably see in the pics. Another Russ Monte creation:) A little more refined than mine, lol. You could pm Tony Lombardi (goatroper02) and get the full skinny on it.
