If you have time rent a car and go to Mesa Verde.

Also Black Canyon of the Gunnison, about 20 miles NE of Cortez....Awesome as the Grand Canyon, in its own way.

 

Black Canyon is about 80 miles north east of Cortez. It is quite a site to see.

Out of Cortez north, there is a pretty cool drive thru Dolores, Rico, up to Telluride. (Ski area, old mining town, beautiful box canyon) Awesome.

Great place to eat. When I moved to Telluride in 1990 we only had to dial the last four numbers. Happy trails.

 

Thanks for taking us on the trip again this year John. It was on my list, and was getting pretty serious about going, before life events slapped me in the face. One day I will make the 5000 mile round trip and see some of the sights. For now, I am so happy you take the time to share your trips with all of us.

 

We got the van repair done and we're back on the road. We will try to make up some Mike's tonight.

This is Dave the owner of the repair shop that got the rear end all fixed up. His shop did a great job and had us back on the road in about 24 hrs. Thanks Dave and Alex!





We just got to Moab Utah and are having some dinner.
