It's top speed at Bonneville on a load of nitrous was 149 and at El Miage 153 as a fuel coupe. In stock trim in the gas coupe class 137 at Bonneville and 135 at El Mirage.
Guys I realize this a crummy colors scheem but what you see that is orange is Chevy and what is blue is Ford the best of two worlds. My brother and I built it in 1974 and I restored it a few yrs. ago.Jhans did us pistons plus .125 over for 310 cu in. it has a Crane roller cam Boss ford heads heads and we fabbed every thing else as seen in the pics. In its day it had a different injection set up, but I had to use what I had, budget you know. We had a Vertex in it but its on another car.. You cannot imagine the problems that came up but we overcame them one at a time.
the top photo was taken in 1967 with my brother in it, and the middle one taken at chandler In. also in 1967. The lower one about 4 yrs ago at George Field Il. at A Day at The Strip event. The T body has been in the family since 1963
If you are refering to the Bastard, Frankinstine, Boss remember 1974. It was running 5.90 to 6.10 in the 1/8 at around 118 to 122 mph not bad for 43 yrs ago.
I think Mike Kirby (Kay Sissel) has a lot to do with it. Twin Dugan head Chevrolet 6's. Very nice piece.
Just a great looking car. Is it just an optical illusion due to the shade or is the oil pan really that close to the ground? Damn. It looks with a hard launch and shut down after a wheel stand that the frame would flex and the pan would surely make contact. - EM
