    I'll try to save it
    Nothing difficult after I made the decision to build one
    It really work well
    Just relied on scrap materials at zero cost to me. Might be more for you.
    I had to move things up twice to clear the brake booster.
    I found the shift rods out of 3/8 needed
    slight bends to clear everything
    The mounting bracket was just a temporary for trial and error.
    There was no error but see no reason to clean it up now
     
  3. First step is swap the shift levers on the trans to point up instead of down for column shifters
     

  4. Every mid-50s studie the old man got had to have a 3 spd with O/D put in it, and he used the same JC Whitney shifter with a switch out of a WWII aircraft for the O/D. His equivalent of flipping on the flux capacitor....

    I've run into this problem a couple of times. Your solution is what I usually do. The problem is clearance in the trans tunnel (at least in a car; a truck may be different). The usual solution is to build a sheet metal "bubble" to clear the mechanism. Sometimes it comes out looking good; usually, it looks a little weird.
