Not sure about the car in the left lane but the near side car is Hans Klemme from Victoria who made the long tow north for this event.

I have been trying to find out when and who gave Chris this nickname - what is the date on this ? All other input welcome. I have found that a lot of people think it came about with his gold plated RED but it goes back a lot further.

  10. Yes Norm even scared Ron a few times. One time at LIONS Norm got to about 400 feet with the wheels up 3 feet and the car veered over to the left and the slick started roosting dirt. Norm finished the run at something over 185. Ron said damn Norman you got to learn to lift once in a while!

  14. Curious and would like comments/opinions. Look at this pic. It is unusual for the starter to have his arms up after the cars have started? I currently own the car in the far lane that was runner up.

I am guessing-- but Isky was famous for giving his cam users nicknames -- "Colonel" Art Malone, for example

Many flag starters had their own 'styles'. That's a story in itself.
