I'm partial to the tri-tones of the mid fifties.

But then I'm also a bit color blind, so ....

Love this choice! looks like a Christmas ornament. Paint is ornamental after all.
My wife, who has trouble choosing a color for anything, would paint our car with ALL the colors, similar to that one, which is why I choose which colors we use. ;)

  5. I like the color of our Ford, but my wife doesn't like it,,

I was always somewhat partial to the copper Chevy color from 57, add a nice off white top and it works. My favorite OEM combination is from an O/T era, but I could see it on one of "ours" if the size and shape was right. MOPAR had a copper that when combined with a black vinyl top and rally stripes on a big 'B' body Dodge, well it's a pretty classy look. Think a richer version of the Chrysler Turbine car. A 2nd choice so close that you'd measure the gap with a feeler gauge would have to be the "Tiger Gold" special order GTO for 65, but it must have a black vinyl top to finish it off. Fuzzt tiger tail hanging out of the trunk, optional. ;) And, 65 GTOs are welcome here so don't bag me too much.
Image thanks to google image search. Not wild about the wheels, never was...

I'm working on a '65 Tempest in gold with a black top right now. Top is painted black though. And I do dig the Hurst mags and redlines.

Won't get any flack from me, '65 is my favorite goat (and acceptable within the parameters here).
Guy had an all gold one here when I was a young punk. Sharp w/chrome reverse.

  16. I think it's a '31 color scheme on my '32 ............ but I like it.

when I was a kid, there was an immaculate '67 Chevelle or possibly Beamont at the end of my grandmothers street this colour combo, with black rally wheels. Guy also owned a grey '69 Z-28 with ansens on it, would have been almost a new car at the time. He was a young guy living at home, must have been pretty bucks up for a young kid.

  23. This makes me feel a little light in the loafers but I have always liked this color combo on a Thunderhawk. They have several variations of it between '55 and '59 and called it everything from Salmon to Coral but I still like it on the right car.

Fordor Ron hit the nail on the head for me. That '55 BelAir. That has always been my favorite. Thats the first combo I think of when someone mentions two tone.

My favorite combo is black and chrome. Almost anything looks good dressed in black and the chrome sets it off. And of course whitewalls, and the proper rake, and, and, and.....
