Mine are all the same. 215's on 6" Torque Thrusts. I think it depends on the car and if its fender less too.

Tall and fat in the back chasing the short, skinny ones up front...kinda like the dating story of my life.

Same brand of tires and same brand of wheels but the fronts are 195 60 14 on 14x7 rims while the rears are 255 60 15 on 15x8 rims.
This time it is going to get the same size all around on 15x7 steelies with hub caps for the look I want.

  4. Hot Rods always big and littles! Customs different story. But it always depends on the car.
    7:50 x 16's and 5:50 x 16's on the roadster! IMG_9792.JPG

7:50 x 16's and 6:00 x 16's on the coupe (had to go with 6:00's to get same white wall)

Car is gone but the look is still there!

  8. My Ford wears big-and-littles out of necessity. I wanted a tire that would fill the wheel wells, so it ended up being 235/75-15 in the back and 215/75-15 in the front. Anything up front would rub on turns with the lowered springs.

IMG_2967.JPG love the look but big and littles the proper front size is illusive. With a 6 inch dropped axle, the 560 X 15's are look small in the fender well but do not rub. 195 75 15's fill the well but tread width is too wide, also very pricey since only Coker has them. My radials are 195 65 15's but look too small . Maybe go back to WWW to see if they will "LOOK" taller !

    15x6 wheels with 215/65 and 235/70s

I did it because visually, a rubber rake gives that wedge shape which is exaggerated on the wagon.

Or maybe I just like it...

Who wouldn't? That tire and wheel combo is sweet on the long roof.

Yes, and this is one of favorite pictures of a 5 window or maybe any window. Beautiful car, great tire/wheel choice.

  14. A shoebox Ford would look weird with big & littles.

But, since I was 7 years old I wanted a car with cheater slicks. I gotta work this out somehow...

I like the big littles on the open wheel cars and its a easy way to adjust the rake of the car. Great looking open wheel cars you guys are posting here! My only problem with it is I would have to carry 2 spares. Only difference in my tires is width. 205 on front 225 on rear

  16. Three pages and I haven't seen a car I don't like. I agree th at Hot Rods need big n littles and customs should be more balanced with the same size front and rear. It's all about stance. My Roadster had 10:50 X 31:50 X 15 on the rear and 185/75 15 up front. I think it had the perfect stance for a Model A with fenders. fall hot rod pics 023.jpg P2220223.JPG

165-80 X 15 Front, 265-70 X 15 Back. With a dual quad 392'' Hemi and a 5 speed anything smaller on the back is worthless!

Bias for me too, Radials always look flat . And as far as handling goes I have never noticed any difference between bias and Radials . My guess is radials are less sensitive to loose steering and too little caster or toe ..My gasser has 5.90-15 silvertowns and 10.50 -16 Vintage M&H Racemaster pie crust slicks and it tracks straight and never wanders on the Freeway, roads or the strip. If you have plenty of caster and the toe in is correct then it will track straight regardless of tires ..Always Big and Littles for hot rods, street rods ,vintage trucks and of course Gassers.!!
