The motor side of this car looks very much like Bob Noice's Accessories Limited car but I did not think that he ran a tail.

The Wing II, the little loved Logghe car that was purchased to fulfill match race dates after the original car bit the dust.

You're right Roo they never ran a tail. I worked at Acc. Ltd. on Saturdays while in high school. Pretty much the same layout but not their car.

#3 Is not Stewart & Estes. Bill Leavitt's "Quicky Too" near lane and Danny Ongais in the "Mangler" far side.

Just posted on the AHRF site...Harold Dawson at Santa Ana in 1952, fuel flathead. ...he totaled this car after crashing into Jarvis Earl's Chevy coupe with Buick power...both drivers survived though this car was destroyed. This was a fairly typical fuel coupe for this era, pretty rough, full fenders, fuel carbureted flathead. Harold would go on to build a chopped and channeled 32 5-window competition coupe sponsored by Reath Automotive that won a number of rounds at the '56 NHRA Nationals, again with a flathead.

a couple of pictures of the Teresa and Cerneka fuel roadster, one from AHRF and one from the July 13 1956 Drag News, to confirm identity as the AHRF didn't have an i.d for the picture. If I remember right, Pete Teresa was one of Dean Lowe's high school teachers. These guys also ran a competition coupe, and the blown Desoto in the roadster later went into a dragster that quickly ran over 150 at Colton with a B engine, pretty good for the time.

This car started out with an Ardun, but by mid-56 it would get an injected fuel Chrysler and become the "Nesbitt Orange Special," with new partner Maurice Richter.

  22. You're right Dave, Pete Teresa was my Freshman math teacher. Only class I ever stayed after to talk with the teacher. We talked hot rods and drag racing. I got an A!
