I was thinking this was a 160 also and with the mention of 305 I remembered the Yamaha 305 Big Bear!

This is a 305 Super Hawk that I bought from a friend after he had thrashed it to death - he even rode it into a lake (accidentally) and we had to fish it out. Anyway, I converted it k. modified 305 Honda.jpg into this flattracker/scrambler kinda thing - it was heavy but fast and I spent many a fun day blasting up and down the dry creek-beds of Nevada with my buddies.

Edit: forgot to mention the bike was also street legal - I could connect a small chrome headlight, and a taillight/license plate holder and the mirrors in about 10 minutes. I used to ride it to work unless the weather was too bad.

My son has one of those Travelalls. It is dead in the water because of an engine fire. The rest is cherry.

This ad brings back memories. When I was in the 8th grade my dad bought a kart just like the one in the ad. It was used and had been raced a lot by the previous owner. It did not come with an engine. We cleaned it up and put a new Power Products engine (from Sears) on it. It could not compete with the newer, lighter karts that came on the market and though our engine was rated at 8 hp, it could not keep up with the newer McCulloch (sp?) engines. Dad chose to use the clutch rather than a straight drive system as he thought it would be easier to drive and not as much trouble for us "beginners" to operate. This was a family project and dad got a huge class pickle jar where the whole family put their spare change into. If there was not enough in it to go racing, we didn't go racing. I delivered newspapers and go lots of tips, most of which ended up in that jar. It was a fun family project even if we were not competitive on the track.
