Forgot to update the interior pics on here ( yeah - I kinda did this fat girl outta order oh well...) replaced the floors aft of the toe board and had my good friend do the interior - after some horse trading for some welding work I did...
Thank you Gentlemen... The upholstery shop that did it was trying to talk me out of my choice before it got installed - said it was not gonna be cool at all and that I was a dumbass!! Fast forward to now - that interior is on his website front page and the banner he advertises w at his show booth...bang! I also found out while I had the suspension and brakes out - doing wheel bearings etc - that someone had done the old F1 truck brake mod back in the day - the stock 48 inner grease seal was not big enuf when I was goin back together with her so I had to spend a day figuring out why.... nice little surprise there - I'll take it!
I told you early in this post that the car talks to you. You just have to listen. Those F-1 brakes are just another instance of the car talking to you! Bet you're glad you didn't go for discs!
fabbed up an aluminum firewall - after marking it up and locating a few things, had my friend engrave it in the theme of an 1890's Visalia Saddle - and I had to add my Buzzard - he's on my boat and now this! It's still wet - just cleared it and it's in the booth til tomorrow and I'll try to install it and stab the motor!
got my oil canister lid back from my buddy who did it up to match the firewall...just cleared it a few min ago!
UPDATE: Haven't done much but scratch my head on the plumbing... need some help... advice...kick in the pants, name calling...whatever! I did however graduate my daughter from college( BS in Nursing! Yay!) and held a big party...she got engaged - ya know - stuff like that... so the car has been getting very little love lately. Here's what I need direction on - Stromberg 97 inlets - banjo fittings - need 2 single "in" ( thread size?) and yup - each carb gettin it's own line from the dist. block - I'll fab up some line hold downs etc... - would love to run a braided line - black, stainless - whatever... 5/16th... fittings for that will be probably the disguised hose clamps ( push on - barbed) w the schmancy covers...thennnnnnnnn - those go to the 3 hole Edmunds fuel block - 2 fuel lines and one for a pressure gauge on a 90 degree fitting so I can read it...I think all holes in the fuel block are 1/8"pipe. Now here's the really stupid part - fuel block "in" is on the side ( extreme left)...and that's where I made my own problem - fabbed firewall - bolted fuel block to firewall - installed firewall over original firewall - now cant put a 90 degree barbed fitting there unless it has a swivel union and that'd look like ass sooooo....was hoping somewhere, there existed a 1/8th pipe thread male banjo fitting to 5/16ths fuel line to correct the issue and be able to thread it in and the firewall won't stop that from happening. like it is now - ( I'll use the make believe full tilt boogie race hose from there to where you cant see it anymore) I'm having nearly the same issue with the oil canister lines - since I got all artsy and relocated it - now i'm ignorant on fittings/lines sizes - AN to NPT - etc and so forth. - seems like nothing exists for the BS i'm trying to do or the peculiar way I wanna do it...and...I'm damn stubborn. pics to follow
I omitted the fact that since the fuel block is hard mounted to the firewall - I cant remove it --- easily...plus - I'm lazy.
Thank you for the compliment I was trying to be "one off " and also counteract the rust holes in the exterior bodywork that are stayin. Ya know, its a "don't judge a book by looking at the cover" type deal... And really- truth be known, it's not THE firewall ... original is underneath with all its bumpiness and contours etc...no way was I gonna cut that out. This is just installed with some teflon spacers under it.
little video of the accidental initial startup that just became intentional...now to bird dog all that little stuff like redo all the fuel lines and some fabric loom and grommets... Was wiring up the 4 terminal ignition switch ( delete the starter button) and adding in the elect fuel pump and well... checked voltage at each key position and no kiddin - it fired off on the first hit! A year later....carpets in and done... Firewall all tidy inside...new..NEW genuine Strombergs on... and it drives reliably, eats the hell outta gas and hasn't made me walk or call for help in a couple weeks!

Timbo405, under the Dodge Lancer caps on my '46 are 7:60x15's on 15x6 stock Ford wheels, also have 500x16 fronts and 750x16 rears on the stock '46 wheels painted Body color with stock caps and rings!
Thank you - already did another adjustment - shortened the mechanical linkage that hooks onto the one bolted to the firewall - it was stretching abt a half inch whenever I pushed on the foot feed...response was mushy - so I cut abt 1/2" out of it and tigged it back together - re-adjusted both 97's idle screws ( Stromberg says 2 turns ea or so - I went 1 1/8 turn - WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!) it runs like a freshly rebuilt motor now with new carbs! LOL - now to maybe focus on the hood where it doesn't close well against the cowl... I hear all of em do that... unacceptable to me! it's had new hinges - a special prop rod holder I bought - still... just isn't right...I see a ratchet strap gettin used to tweek it in it's future... wish I could include my other project car on here as it's been my desire for 25 yrs - but since it's too new - rules and regulations prohibit it's mention on this site lol ( 67 Biscayne 2dr sedan....maybe by me 50th in a couple months i'll be done) it's not "HAMB demographic...)
