Introducing my son's new ride 1960 Ford Galaxie. 292 Y block' 3 on the tree needs some floor and interior work. but other than that not a bad car..
Nice ride. Was it built in Louisville? If he's looking for ideas on what color to paint it have him consider Q code which is Lilac Metallic....
VERY NICE! Congratulations Son. These things look custom right from the Factory. And you don't see many of them.
I absolutely love that year design! What a great car for your son to enjoy... it's always nice to see the kids pick up the mantel and actually enjoy the process knowing it's ''their'' car...fine job
Awesome! For me Silver or White work on those cars best. Jmo Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
It doesn't take much to make these cars really nice. Their clean, flowing lines are a great thing to build on.
Yeah, that certainly is a good project car for starting out. They're simple to work on. Had a Red 60 Starliner back in '69. Y-block. It had an automatic in it; swapped in a 3-speed. The Starliner looks good in red, IMO. The Fairlane 500 that Jalopy Joker posted looks like a good color choice for a sedan, too. BTW, what's the name of that color ?
Good start for a kid! Get him a can of bondo and some more primer and he's lookin good. Looks like it sits low already, maybe some spinner wheel covers and skirts are in his future. My neighbor kid just bought a 60 Ford wagon with a 460 and C6 and old Keystone dark center 5 spokes, he is happier than a pig in $hit, I mean mud.
Picking at nits, but the rear window makes it a Fairlane. Probably just says FORD on the deck lid and hood though. Enjoy! -Dave
Unless you're a VIN # guru there are numerous websites you can visit & y can find out exactly what it is where it was manufactured , trim packages , stock color etc. Sent from my XT1650 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Chevy guys always liked that year Ford. They got tired of seeing those big round Ford taillights every time they raced, so these Nieuport shapes weren't such a blatant reminder.
Best thing you can do is get the factory shop manual for your car. It will break down not only the vin, but also the data plate information as well as containing a wealth of other usable info. -Dave
