Projects Original fan flathead '46 V8 in a model a frame!?

    Hi !

    I am going to build an mechanic fan (original) in my av8.

    Some people say that it will be tight cause of the model a frame and radiator but i think i can manage it.

    Is there anyone who has the measures from the bottom of the fan holder to the top of the fan... if you know what i mean

    And also how much the double standard crank pulley will build (measurement). The crossbeam is like almost 8 cm (3") from the single pulley ive got now.

    I had the same problem with my 8ba in my 29 phaeton. there wasn't enough room between the engine and rad to use the drop down fan from an 8ba. I ended up using a generator mounted fan and trimming the blades down to clear my top tank on the rad. but if you had the engine low enough you wouldn't have to trim the blades 20160518_173352.jpg

    so how is the fan gonna work if it doesn't line up with the crank shaft pulley? you can usually find double pulleys on bigger trucks
