I'm looking for this 1948 International pick up. It was sold to a speed shop in Bakersfield Ca back in the mid 2000's They said there shop was across the street from the drag strip. This truck was sold on ebay from Batavia Iowa. I built this truck back in the mid 80's and would like to find it . Appreciate any help to locate this truck. Thank you James
When i sold it i keeped the engine and tran. It ran 130 in the 1/8 mile. Blown injected on alky 400 Pontiac
There isn't a speed shop across the street from Famoso, but one of the track owners lives right down the road as has a huge shop full of hot rods and race cars. PM me and I can give you his name if that would jar your memory. He has bought and sold lots of cars over the years.
The guy that bought this truck back in early 2000's said he was the owner of a speed shop that was the closes to the Bakersfield drag strip. This truck has a clear title so someone might has see it at the car shows. Finding this truck might be harder then I thought. Thanks James
There are no shops, businesses or houses close to the drag strip, that's why it is still there after all these years.
I've not visited Bakersfield so I don't know how the town is layer out . Ok then the speed shop must be in town thank you James
Would imagine it's Famoso Speed Shop. Lot of really bitchin' rides out of there. Love their Comp Coupe. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
So far no leads on locating my old truck. Can and one help me on how to go about locating my truck ? I have signed up at other forums and posted with no reply. How about a reward for finding it ? Thanks James
About four years ago me and a buddy bought some model A parts here locally and the guy had a international pickup similar. Been awhile, it was the same body style and had a hemi? Maybe but I don't remember it being so wild as far as shortened wheel base and rear tires but I'll ask to see if I can get the guys number if you want. Was a friend of a friend of a friend deal.
Try Facebook " I used to cruise Chester Ave" lots of Bakersfield locals there Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I'm still looking for my old hot rod. I'm thinking about running a ad in the local news paper there in Bakersfield Ca. Does anyone know which news paper would be a good choice for a ad like this ? The gentleman that bought this truck owned a speed shop around 2005. Thank you
There is only one paper in town the Bakersfield Californian. There is a Bakersfield Craigslist if that helps.
I'm still on the hunt for this international truck. I'm thinking if I could talk to someone that's a big hot toddler in Bakersfield they may have know who has it. Will a reward help people find it for me ?
