The Jetsons would love it too! How's your project comin'along? hope everything's allrighty, would be cool to see some mild progress! Cheers, Carsten
That thing just screams for a double bubble. Twin aircraft canopies perhaps? Sent from my SM-G360V using H.A.M.B. mobile app
bubbletop is a no-go.....too complex (and expensive)....found a solution which may be the best thing yet.......i did a photo rendering of the car as a roadster ......a day or two later i came across this amazing boat windshield that is nearly IDENTICAL to my rendering....also been working away on the car..when i originally sectioned it, i had never welded up the firewall, so i got that done, and while i was at it, i filled all the firewall holes as well, and relocated the body braces...also reshaped my door and shortened the fins to match my rendering,,,,,on a big time roll now!! onward!!!
a little more.....made that piece on the lower rear quarter from a shoebox ford fender,,,it fits very well....also replaced a panel that had gotten warped from welding (the other red piece)..ground down all the welds along the top side of the fin...need to go back and weld up some pinholes,,but making some decent progress on the quarter..
got sick of seeing that hideous looking blackwall tire on all my pics..so i photoshopped a wide white just to get an idea of how the car will look once i actually put some real ones on,,,
Love it! You have a great eye for shape and proportion! Your gonna have 29 miles of welding wire in that thing when you are done!!! SOOO Awesome..
playing around with an idea i had for a deck scoop...still on the fence about it,,,,also added more metal to fill in the area all the way up to the cockpit area...
Nice work and very creative. After seeing all your welded in pieces, now I feel normal when I cut or recut and weld new shapes on my builds. One of my favorite tools has become my grinder.
Too weird....Not 10 minutes ago I heard Telstar played on our local "Oldies" station!!! Good to see you staying with such a unique theme, Jim. Is Misfit still in your picture? The last time I saw you at Pistons and Paint we were talking about colors....like metalflake green and gold, tuck & roll metalflake interior, etc..
