It's on my bucket list, but a bit out of budget at the moment. Maybe one year I'll be able to take my little Ford. Anyone fancy sponsoring the shipping?
coming up soon.....getting the old Suburban ready to haul the little car up to Ohio. Lovely, another 5000+ miles of driving iffy old cars!
after many looooong hours going completely through the harness the injector problem was found. I had fast on the phone for a few hours. the phone was on speaker. I had one hand holding a flashlight while the other was trying to test wires. we had 10.6 volts at the injector. the box was lighting up as though there was rpm triggering the injectors. the lap top was hooked up showing 0 rpm so we knew the crank trigger was working. were there was supposed to be a positive it showed a negative when tested. and were the negatives were it was showing positives. this was on the section of harness that went to the injectors. the lights were flashing but the injectors weren't firing. long story short there was a fuse missing from the harness. there was electricity back feeding into the harness. once the fuse was added the problems were solved. the harness was removed from the car while I was on drag week last year. the shop must have unplugged the pig tail from the box that the fuse went into and was removed. the box looks like a relay. something so simple and it costs a lot of stress. I thought I had a problem with the harness at the engine due to our findings. it was really at the very back of the harness were the problem was. we should be able to start it Saturday on gas.
Glad to hear you got it sorted out Brian. Its always the little things that can make your head hurt, seems that way anyhow .
fast has always been very helpful. one of the techs called me this morning asking how things were going. I didn't expect that. before bowling green last year I stopped at fast located in Memphis. they helped program the traction control and did some advanced tuning. they showed me what they were doing and why. I took the head of the efi dept out for lunch. during the lunch I told him my son was converting to fast efi. he gave him a killer deal on a throttle body. after the pri show two years ago I stuck around for the fast classes they were holding on sunday. taught by the efi university it was money well spent for what we all learned. great people over there.
thanks! Everything is packed...just had a few wrenches out to adjust the WD hitch, but it doesn't need it.
I'm not doing the sealed hood thing this year, Turk said I was cheating last year. But at least I can say I did it
it wasn't cheating. it was just a different interpretation of the rules. the hood did stay sealed. I will see everyone in ohio.
yeah, I know that, and you know that, but we don't get to interpret the rules! Leaving tomorrow...see you there!
Good luck guys! Since I did not get in this year, Damn was my own fault, I will be following close on the live stream, and videos . GO GET EM!!!
