My guess would be that they are Checkers. They built a lot of weird looking cabs that you see in old photos, but rarely see in real life. They look like a '42-'48 shape body. If they were anything like the Checker Marathon, they could have lagged the styling of other cars, which means they could be newer.

What't the story on the Thermo-Dine car?
Thermodyne is what Mack called their diesels in the B series trucks. The photo is too early to have a performance diesel, even though it does look like it could be Australia or somewhere else where they have hot rod four-doors, right hand drive, and cars that burn oil on purpose.

Saw many home made ones. Fore runner of the toy haulers of today. A good way to use a 8-10' cab over camper and a Big Tex car trailer. Notice the wheels were what you see on smaller mobile homes when moving them.

I think if they turned it 90 degrees to the rear they might have had something.

    Hello,
I was reading an old page 3721 in this thread and thought everyone would like to see the vehicle in action. We were lucky enough to be at Lions when the Art Arfons' Green Monster showed up for some exhibition runs. It was impressive at the time. It took a minute to get going, but when it did...
    Thanks,
    Jnaki
