Jimmy, I remember checking out your '46 when Chris was working on it. Nice ride, AND I can appreciate your driving it. I wonder if you know Leroy Menning Jr ? I worked with his Father on the old Southern Pacific. Many years ago when Leroy was still living, they had several cool cars between them. No streetrods or hotrods, but nice cars. Anyway, back to the present. I drive my Deuce roadster fairly often around town, but really enjoy cross-country cruising, so it is geared to get 22 mpg at 75 mph at 2100 rpms. I just wish the guys in our club, The Spokesmen, would drive their cars occasionally. I hope to meet you at LSRU or maybe Gonzales. Also, Austin has a good meet at Top Notch Hamburger Drive-Inn, the next one being Aug. 6. It is located on Burnet Rd. a few blocks south of Anderson Lane. Maybe I will see you there. Gary Addcox. P.S. I worked with a Conductor Price many years ago who live in Yoakum.
Great story and experience, a trip back into the past (real hot rods) for a few minutes AND that's what so great about our Hobby, majority of the people are Great!, Usually will take the time to share their passion in whatever car style/type that may be.
Looks like he made it. Several pics of the coupe on the way to/at the event on the Hot Rod Network site here: http://www.hotrod.com/news/fast-loud-fun-photo-gallery-drive-northwest-deuce-days/
VERY tall, considering he owns such a fine mo-sheen! (and nobody said the radiator's too high!! WOW!! ( and F 'em if they do!!- it's a PISSER car)
