Hot Rods Cadillac Engine

A friend has this old Cadillac engine and is looking for any info he can get. I figured this would be the best place to start. Are there any other places to look for numbers? Thanks in advance for your help. [/ATTACH]

 

Looks like a '55 to '62 engine. The first two #s on the right front engine will tell you. Looks like you haven't scraped off enough crud.

You've got a spin-on oil filter so that means it's 1960 to 1962.

Info from another website indicates a a pre-fix of "O6X" indicates 1960 with a single 4 barrel, which is the prefix on your stamped #, and your supposed to be looking at the stamped one not the cast one.

Yeah, clunker's got it... 1960 390. A good one to start a build with.
