So after missing this years TROG , the guys from the club and I decided that we had to be back for 2017 if possible. I sold my 2015 race car and thought I'd try something totally different then anything I've ever built. So here goes nuthin. I'm thinkin a single seater built to look like a late 30's race car. 21 stud flathead , mechanical brake and tall wires. [IMG][IMG]
I bought this super clean Model A chassis from the guys at Mill works hot rods and stripped the fenders off.

  7. Ray I have a family photo, for some inspiration.

This is Sam Craft from Denver N.Y in front of his shop some time before 1938.
My great uncle Don Weyle crewed and traveled with him.

This is a A.A.A. big car (Indy car)-
    Model B with RaJo head

I have a close up of the car as well.

Ray, neat project! In my dottage, I admire the zeal and energy of you young guys. You are keeping the hobby fresh and alive. We'll try to take a putt over this summer and see it in person.

Now, Ray, you know how to turn all that useless Model A stuff ( fenders, FRAME??) into parts you can use......... LOL

Love the idea you're going with- knowing you, it's gonna be another knockout build!

[IMG] reversed the main leaf and did a ton of modifying to get the steering arms and tie rod below the wish bone.

[IMG] Pete hooked me up with a big truck tie rod and I used it for the new split wishbone ends.
