I've recently purchased a 32 5 window and not sure what to list it for. Steel car, original pans floor and trunk (trunk has some patches. Frame not cut vin stamp with tank on the rear. 39 brakes, 40 drop axle with 40 banjo rear (open drive shaft) 55/56 Olds 324 Saginaw 4 speed. Body real solid in primer over the past 10 years. Original seat with nice interior, 40 steering wheel.

You need about 25 - 30 pictures (in other words every square inch). Then you might get some reasonable replies. It will probably generate more questions but that will help you.

I still have a pit in my stomach when I think of the hours (weeks) I put in my '32 Five window just painting it. (red Nitro)
Then the chrome...(I worked part time at a chrome shop in '58, boss let me polish and chrome my own stuff. He panicked when I did rear axle housings, torque tube, wishbones. Thought I'd stop at front axle, spring, backing plates, etc.
He asked if I planned on chroming the Deuce frame! What made him think that?)
I sold it to a guy that had more $$ than me. Got a big chunk of his $$.
Should have kept it. 'Til the chrome turned green, and the nitro oxidized...

  11. Man it would be worth way more with old chrome and patina paint

Looks like a pretty nice car. I would start with how much you gave for it. It's not everyday a car like that falls into your lap and get it for nothing and not have any knowledge of what they are worth. If you don't know the value of it, how did you decide to purchase it, not knowing the value??

Wait you purchased the car for an agreed value to make money on and don't know the resale market.
I see you haven't posted for 2 years since you sold the roadster you owned for a very short time also .
Sorry but you need to build some credibility first to get genuine advice.

  14. Why worry about what to ask? I will give you a thousand dollars cash money and you won't have to bother with it.......☺

I wouldn't even give the 1k, sounds like a scam.

  16. Agree!

  17. This is a common ploy here on the HAMB - and elsewhere I suspect. The second one in the past 24 hours in fact.

to help set a value factor in what you paid for it, and what a realistic profit should be. could look at classifieds here to help come up with a number.

I would think that with a stock height roof, it wont be worth much,
    - most want them with a 3 - 4 inch chop !

Now read post 13 again - it should answer your question. - if not, the story of how you came to own a car that you don't know it's value, may make interesting reading on this forum.

I agree with HRP, list it on the classifieds with the other bucket heads that only use the HAMB and Fordbarn for classified ads trying to sell the same over priced shit week after week! It is a cool car though, hopefully a good score.

The OP owned this briefly and sold it, maybe sellers remorse but at least he knows what has style , so cudos for that . Dang that's a cool roadster. I think he should keep the coupe and style it to the roadster. image.jpg
