Here is the Bloody Mary in Keith's shop getting some refurbishing so he can get back on the road for the summer. Keith is going to do a total rebuild later on. Look at his old time shop, just like the days when this chopped coupe was first built.
So slick - glad he was able to get his hands on it, and it's great that it will be back on the road - where it belongs. Thanks for posting it up.
Keith is busy working on it, new floor installed, gas tank filler neck repaired, new rear brakes and cylinders, new brake hoses, new steering arms and tie rods, new transmission shifter, new reversed eye front spring, front axle new king pins fitted and installed, radiator is getting a new core installed, engine and frame cleaned and painted, new chrome valve covers, trunk hinge repaired, exhaust pipes repaired, new motor mounts, next is new wiring, and stick on insulation. And the list goes on!!
We never did get to see what you did to the old roadster regarding fenders for the registration process. It is great however to see that you have been driving it around fenderless since then. I am presently building cycle fenders for my RPU which will be removable. I decided to do so for my future retirement move to Vancouver Island even though the supposed BC fenderless law (that never seems to actually get passed) may be on the books by then. Larry
The new owner Keith is getting this old custom rod ready for the road - and yes, those wire wheel baskets are history. Turning out to be a lot of work, but he will do it right and bring the coupe back to its former glory.
Put the cycle fenders in the rafters Larry, unless you like them.. B.C.'s fenderless law was announced on Canada Day.
Yup, I plan to finish them up anyway so that if I like them I will have the option to run them. I'm thinking that they will be on the shelf more than the car I just figured I'd build them while building the car. Easier now than trying to figure something out later if I wanted to.
Keith showed up today with a new ride he just bought. A 51 Mercury powered 31 Model A and man is it cool!! Now he has three cars the Model A, his 34 Ford Tudor sedan and the Bloody Mary. Can't have too many hot rods!
Here is another pic of the Chev Bucket and Keith's new ride - two old time flathead powered hot rods!
Keith is fairly new to the hot rod hobby having starting only about three years ago. He was into restoring old Harleys before. ( He only has the 41 Harley left now.) He sure is a fast learner !!
As Chevbucket says, our friend Keith is relatively new to the hot rod scene, having come over from the vintage Harley group. He is definitely one of the hardest working guys I know, and the talent he developed working on old Harleys will be put to good use building hot rods!
