Anybody remember seeing this car in the 50's or 60's as it used to be a running, driving Hot Rod as I was told. This steel body was found in San Diego. The windshield used be straight up posts with a visor, when the car was together. They were cutoff later and I have the old pieces with a modified Visor which looks like a twenties Chevy. The Cowl appears to be a 1929 Ford coupe. The steel door skins appear to be custom made. The Rear Deck is similar to the 50's Hot Rod called Toy T built by Carl Burnett. The rear deck appears to be a modified steel deck and lid from a 50's Austin Healey. This car may have been raced or dragged as an Altered Roadster Class.
    Thanks for any information. Chris

Kinda funky and cool. Looks like a bugeye but as mentioned above the trunk would have to be fabricated.

I don't remember that car but I certainly remember Carl Burnet's Antique Automotive store.

Truncated 1928-'29 closed car cowl, what looks like a narrowed '40's GM. rear clip with the fenders moulded in...rearend moved forward... [must have been a cool altered] and home made doors... Mikie likes it...

Did you by that on Memorial Day?

  9. The rear looks like a combination of Bugeye fenders and Spridget trunk lid.

The guy I bought this body from said it was a running and driving Hot Rod years ago with a tube frame.

I think it was on the cover of one of the magazines of the day. A sailor was behind the wheel. I still might have the magazine.
But where do I start looking ? (Too much stuff)

Could that rear clip be from a Crosley? Bob
