Beautiful work. Hot Rods will likely be my 'comfort food' when my kids get older and start moving away! I can't even find someone around here to fix a small 1" hole in the roof of my '87 Dodge Raider...
I've but a few pieces of metal together before so I may make time to just give it a go myself. I need to start practicing for the work needed on my '49 New Yorker driving project.

the owner got most of it put back together
we are still looking for a better left fender and possible a front bumper
Car still needs cut and buffed, but looks good for a trade school paint job

he has another project waiting but hasn't pulled the trigger on it
its a cool 34 Ply cabriolet/roadster that runs drives and stops
it had some custom work done in the 60s
I think he has decided to concentrate on the coupe and may offer up the roadster
this would make a killer early style ride
the only issue with the car is its missing the WS frame and top bows
    it runs great

  12. When he first brought the body, I tried to talk him into a mild chop
After looking at the profile I’m glad the owner disagreed.
He was also correct on keeping the fenders.
    Sometimes the “customer” is correct

The 354 tucked in very well. I tried talking him into letting me shape the hood side louvers to clear the valve covers.
We are still not sure on bumpers yet. I kinda think it would look great with them
The body is stock except for tail lights, shaved side mount (thanks Vinni ) and wider inner wheelhouse
There was no way I was gonna fill the roof!

  14. He has just about got it done
    Owner is doing assembly
I did the body shell, splash aprons and rear fenders(fab, body work and paint)
students did the the body work on the decklid, grill and doors
Vini's Hot Rods did the metal work on the decklid and side mount work on the rt fender

That is a great looking car! I also vote "no hood sides" but I'd ask he get some chrome valve covers for that Hemi. ;)

I'd paint the valve covers the same as the car and leave them exposed.

I'd paint the valve covers a diff color and change the color of the wires but its your sweet ride . If its easy use the sides both ways. I like the grey. great

  28. I will repeat for the record "I was incorrect for suggesting a chop and no fenders"
I said 10 hail Ryans and sprinkled myself with motor oil
