A reminder for people in the Portland Oregon area. Beaches started it's summer cruising event tonight, June 1, 2016 http://beachesrestaurantandbar.com/community/cruisin/
With tonight being opening night, The Slo-Poks are the featured club. the Poks always bring a variety of good looking, well built cars, and a great bunch of guys ! I will be going for sure.
Those Poks are good folk. I'd come say hi but I am knee deep in flathead startup agony. ^^^X2 on the pics. My office window faces a busy street and I've been watching the cars pour past this afternoon on their way over. Some race trailers as well for a little 1/8th mile action. If you guys are ever in the area, every Wednesday night, all summer long, weather permitting. Live band, adult beverages, food, drag racing, open to pre-73, all vettes and HD's (and anything you can race including a couple of turbo nitrous snowmobiles on inline skate wheels...130 mph in the 1/8th- that ain't right). They can put 1200+ cars in there some nights and around 100 bikes (never actually counted them). It can be crazy! 5$ a car, all money to charity. Great mid week cruise in. Get there early and sit on the bleachers with a solo cup and watch em roll in. We might have to have a HAMB corner under the trees for a sit and chit.
I drove my Roadster to the Beaches cruise once, that was over 20 years ago. I lived in Portland for a year. How time flies.
Great way to spend a summer evening. A bit of a drive for me but try and make it at least once a year. If a HAMB corner happens I'll be there.
heh, heh, Dated that guys daughter and just refinanced my buddy sitting there in front of his Camaro. Home sweet home.
This guy digging for the crown royal is a buddy from the local watering hole in Vantucky. He just bought a flathead to replace the banger currently residing under the hood. Cool little coupe.
I even got to watch some valve adjusting on a Riley 2-Port by my old buddy, Mark Brislawn. HAMB Member MAD O34, installed some rear fenders on his Coupe, cycle fenders on the front are next.
Good turn out last night. I had a awesome time. Heres one of the only pictures i took. Its my 53, with my friend Kyle's 50, and my buddy Nicks 60 caddy.
Ah crap! This site has RR monitors, spelling and grammar monitors, OT monitors, BS monitors and I'm down wit dat. But I draw the line at beverage monitors!

cool stuff from last nights installment at the beaches cruise at PIR. Never seen this car before, or any Olds gasser for that matter but this was really sweet And this one. I waited around for the owner but not long enough evidently. Doug, it says Salem,Or on a sticker in the back window. Know it? Good hot rod fodder. Like to know who owns it. I didn't see the handicap permit till I posted the pics, I should have waited a little longer for him to get back to the car.
The green and white "Gasser" is a Pontiac if it makes any difference. Looks like a great show with a fabulous turnout!
How embarrassing, I even saw the 421 emblem and still committed the faux pas. Thank you for correcting me with such a mild rebuke. My wife may need to take note.
