image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg This is my home shop build with a 20 year parts collection. Shooting for a mid 60s vibe.
All work done by me in my barn shop.

He, he...the jacked up 64 Galaxie dates from the last half of the 60's in a good way.
Nice looking old survivor hot rod body, too
What's up with the air shocks on the last pic? Wondering if you can get a ok ride with those at minimum psi setting

let you know about the air shocks. This one has a heavy 32 axle with unspoiled bones. Tired of looking at slammed rat rods.

I like it, looks good. Never saw a Mercury horn button in one of those banjo wheels before, although I guess they'd have to exist, that's neat. And I agree about these cars looking good with some ride height built into them.

That is an awesome project....I love the speedometer which says "police special'':)...pretty cool...it's gonna be a good lookin' car for sure!

  10. Its an old Harley Speedo. The 100 mph ones are getting hard to find, you can still find the old 120s easy enough. I like it real well.

41 Ford truck with early Lincoln brakes all around. Original K member mounted the wishbone. That decided the placement of the front crossmember.

Uh...PastdueBill, you have your grease collector shields on upside down...(round part goes to the bottom...it's a 'sump')
Great car, love the 'higher profile'...nice S/W straight 5.

Like what your doing with nearly all of it for sure, but the faky moon tank only really belongs on drag car for race fuel, not for driven reg street car, just blocks the air flow to the rad and shows that some one has no real idea what the tank was actully used for/has become one of many BS things guys do now way to much, that was not what we really did when I was building hotrods in the 59s an 60s. If we use moon tank at the strip,we took it back off shortly there after. Looking great with the work so far.

  16. I like the idea of too much motor and "not enough" brakes. The drums will stop it if up to par but no one will want to accept that.

True to form old school hot rodding 101.

Lincoln brakes will stop it better than Ford ones will. 2000lb car+12" brakes=whoa!

Thanks Dana. It's a vintage Eelco tank. I understand where you are coming from on the over done tank. (I hate fake straight axle gassers for the same reason. I fell in love with the McMullen roadster at an early age and always liked the look of the tanks myself.

  19. A lot of the locals use the moon/eelco tanks for radiator overflow tanks, so they actually serve a purpose.

I guess one could put fuel in it and a contact fuse and make a cross between a torpedo and a Molotov cocktail out of it. :D

The roadster is a beauty to say the least I like the direction it is going.

Ive run this engine in another roadster before. With no hood sides it never runs hot. Might make a spare fuel tank out of it for use on the flats.

Before you weld the floor in, see if you can get someone to roll some beads into it, take the oil can out it, add some strength and aesthetics.
Nothing like a car, home built down the in the barn (Shed)
