Hey! My names Ryan from Sioux City IA, I've been a HAMBER for a few years now but never really had anything good worth posting so I just spent my time reading about everyone else finding their dream cars.. well now it's my turn. I've been looking for a 30-31 coupe for a minute now. I had one a few years back but with one bad decision I sold it and been kickin my own rear since. This one is a car that I think was built maybe in the 60s in Lincoln NE car was owned by a gentleman named Grant Harner and since has been passed around a few times. I bought the car from one of the coolest guys I've met from down around the Lincoln NE area. It's chopped 4 inches and sectioned on the bottom 4 inches and greatest thing of all ITS TITLED!. I can't wait to get started on this cool car.

That is a nice start, Looks like most of the work was pretty good which saves undoing and redoing it.

Looks like a really nice start to your project.
Getting one that solid sure gives you a jump start on not having to deal with a lot of rusr.
Keep posting your progress with it and good luck!

My crystal ball says there's some '32 rails in the future. Oh wait, maybe that was just Instagram. ;) That's a great score, hopefully this body has taken the regret and sting out of selling your previous Model A. It will look great on deuce rails. I look forward to watching the build, so keep us HAMBers posted with your progress.

Don't forget, Vintage Torque Fest is less than 20 days away. Great show and great place to get ideas. I will be there in my '31 Model A Coupe.

And yes, I spent the last week wishing I were in Austin, TX too!!!

Looks like a nice start. Is that roof the top off a late 1931 pickup? Bob

Bob it's a 31 coupe top with a roof insert but the body work isn't the best so it looks funky where beads on back reach the top

Ok, It just looked like the PU roof edge screws are just behind the visor and the back panel ribs run out into no were. Looks like a great start on a build. Bob

  10. I'd say you scored big time. That's a very solid looking pile of parts to start with. So, if you use a '32 frame will it be fenderless? Either way will be cool. I'm kinda liken the fenders/boars treatment.

Timwhit - I'd love to run the fenders but since I'm leaning real hard toward 32 chassis I want to show it off. But definitely will hang around for maybe another coupe down the road

Did a little bit of stripping on the body today. I wanted to leave the paint that was on it because when I buffed a little spot out it actually brightened right up but there is a few things in the paint that are catching my eye plus the previous body work isn't the best. I'm super excited for this one.

And thank you everyone for commenting and checking it out!

  13. I wish I was posting from my computer rather my ignorant smart phone .... I'd share pics of some sectioned rods with fenders.

It's said to be an East Coast style, but to me .... style is unbound by location. Your coupe proves it. Nebraska. (Papillion, NE 68046 Class of 89 grad here by the way ...) :)

I'll bet it was a fantastic car together, and newly built. Hope you find some builder relatives with pictures. With the name above ... there is a Senior, Junior, and a grand son all named for the other ... and better, still in the area !

You are a lucky fella'. And me too ... after a day between ... this ignorant ass phone let me come back to edit. About damned time !!! Grrrr

Ideally I have a Desoto hemi spotted but more then likely it'll be a early sbc with a blower.

So far this little crack in body line is the only thing I've found. Have a long ways to go yet though

    Ryan,
Nice score brother, sounds like your building one of your dream cars, it's a great feeling I'm in the process of doing the same. Defiantly Christmas ever time the garage door opens. Can't wait to see more, looks great, best of luck.
Hey! try not to sell this one.
