I'm in the process of building a 30 model a roadster.......all I have is the cowl and rear quarters,my question is does anyone know the width of the doors and the inside width of the quarters behind the doors so I can weld in some 1x1 ...thanx
Why don't you get the lower deck panel, and the upper deck panel to give you a good start. I would give you the dimension for the quarter panel width, but my roadster is channeled. I can give you the dimension between the door jambs if it will help. nick.
My passenger door does not fit well and the body is original Ford stuff, never apart. I agree start at the bottom and build up.
It would be pointless to spend the almost 500 on subrails when I'm just going to cut them up to channel it over the frame Sent from my SM-G925T using H.A.M.B. mobile app
What do you have for measurements?mine will be channeled as well Sent from my SM-G925T using H.A.M.B. mobile app
I measured mine today, distance from cowl to door jam centered is 22 3/4. Width of top panel between quarters is 37. Width of lower panel between quarters is 35 1/2. Width between quarters centered at door guide is 46 3/4. Not sure how most people channel a roadster but I have read where they do use the subrails to retain the orginial floor and move the body down the channel they want or move the frame above them instead of below them. Not for everyone though. Good luck. .
This weekend i made a "cabster" subfloor with [2] 1" tubes [conduit] 1" apart, the'top centers' of the tubes are 2" apart, i had some 2" steel strips, used them as caps... makes a pretty nice subfloor for under $50.00 ... rear kick ups after i add the quarters...
