Wow, the 41 super deluxe front bumper looks fantastic on a 39/40 ford. Your 40 is looking great!

  3. I had the week off for spring break, so I thought I'd try to knock out the trunk. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1458332295.216173.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1458332309.066139.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1458332539.882551.jpg

  4. I'd like to put 46-48 bumpers on it, but it will take some work, they're not a bolt up deal. I need to stay focused on driving this thing, cosmetics can come later.

So I'm sticking with the 40 bumper for now, (41 on the front) I went ahead and mounted the extra tail lights/turn signals. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1459031445.733254.jpg

  5. Nice work Dan, your rust repairs look good. I like the 46-48 bumper too, seems to add some volume that the 40 bumper is missing.

What a cool view of the cars stance! You need to get that car on the road and wear the stickers off those tires!

  7. This thing is gonna turn out killer. Love the sedans and this one has the perfect stance.

Still making my way through your thread but got here and had to know where abouts in Iowa is your uncle from I think I've seen that truck around Des Moines before.

Love the look of your sedan so far. Can't wait to see how it turns out as I catch up.

Had to be him then I live right around there.

Keep chipping away and the varmit will be on the road before you know it

  19. ...any chance this will show up at Torquefest in Dubuque?

  20. My sedan is in Texas, so no. My uncle's 40 PU is in DSM so there's a possibility. He hasn't said anything about it.

  21. I'm really tired of not being able to drive this thing. Part of my problem is budget, but lately my problem is indecision. So I've kinda made up my mind to make up my mind. You can second guess what I'm doing if you'd like, I'm just trying to get this thing on the road.

So, I've been really indecisive about battery location. I decided to to make it happen and move on. Here's what I did: I went with a small Braille battery so it would fit nicely under the fender apron. For some reason, I didn't want to put it on the trunk. So I cut down a speedway battery mount, welded it back together. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1460407212.085040.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1460407240.866264.jpg

That should work just fine. Olscrounger does a similar battery mounting on his 40's.Keep at it . You checking items off of that long list pretty regularly now. You will be driving it soon.

Look great Dan! I totally understand the budget thing. Now that my new motor is almost done and going in, I'm staring at costs to drive the dang thing too (driveshaft, electric fan, exhaust....)

Patience is what I keep telling myself. Which also sucks because the weather is finally getting nice up here!!
