Be sure and keep the drip rail when you chop it.
Don't be afraid to say "Bye, bye" to those canted tail lights.

I've really been going back and forth with the drip rails. Why do you say keep em?

When you remove the drip rails it makes the rear side windows look too small and out of proportion in relation to the front side windows and flow of the roof. I know it's almost sacriligious to say to say but an example of this is the Sam Barris Merc. If you objectively analyze the way the quarter windows look you will see what I mean. The quarter windows just don't look right. Keeping the drip rails would have enhanced the beauty of the chop by making the quarter windows appear larger.

The chop by Matt Townsend shown earlier is a good example of why it looks better if you keep the drip rails. His drips rails maintains a smooth "natural" roof flow and overall look. Look at photos of Mercs without drip rails and you will immediately see the difference. I suggest you converse with him before you make any cuts. He is an expert at chopping Mercs.

Yeah keep the drip rails. It looks funny without them, makes the doors look odd I think.

Oh no! Drip rails are what give chopped Mercs that "killer" look:)
as opposed to the "Opps! I made a mistake" look.:(
Don't be a "Drip" by doing away with the "Rail".:(

Extreme! I like it. Where did you cut your b post? Did you cut into the roof or under the drip rail?

Damn that think is slick. Looks like an old hot wheels car I had 25 years ago. 4 Doors are awesome...more room for folks while riding dirt roads and drinking cold beer.
    Nice work.

:D Good looking build.Keep the chrome bumpers.Anything else just looks cheezy on a 50`s Ford or Mercury.
    Good luck.Have fun.Be safe.
