Anyone recognize these hugely over priced center caps? (I paid way to much)

    Late 50's or early 60's I'm a thinkin......

Take a look at 55 or 56 Olds base model. Base meaning the small center if you did not order full covers

I'm not sure, but they look like a set of NOS ones I had years ago, and mine were sold to me as 55-56 Olds

    Ok,

My first impression was Canadian Ford Meteor as they also used a 4 pointed star
and all 5 of us are located in Canada.

I agree they are probably Olds, but I'm thinking a bit later than '55/'56.......maybe '59/'60 era.

edit: Is that oval 'grid' in the center of the caps actually there, or a reflection from something in the room in which the photo was taken? Stated another way, are the centers smooth or embossed?

    Next question,

    Are they rare?

Or Collectible in that they have/can be used in period cars/hotrods?

I swear I have seen these on late 50's customs/pictures.
But I just can't figure out where?

I was hoping that they would fit the Mercury
And that they would allow me to 'upscale' from the
    current FoMoCo dog dish.
...I really want to get rid of the "Ford" hubcaps seeing that this is a Mercury.

Unfortunately, The rims on the Mercury are take about a 1/4" smaller center cap.

It's a reflection from the overhead lights (pic taken about midnightish)

....I'll take some better pics but it's hard because they are very reflective.
    Very possibly NOS.

I am going to withdraw my prior opinion that these are Olds caps. The stars are not the same as the Olds versions. Further, I searched Olds images on Google and found similar caps, but definitely not the same.

The Canadian Meteor is as good a guess as any, maybe better than most. :)

Thanks to everybody for the input,
and Ray, thanks for the guiding light (google it).

...The reason I thought that they may be Meteor is because the 'star'
reminded me of a trim piece that I picked up a few years back
while cleaning out an old dealership...

A 58 meteor grille bar in particular...

  17. moefuzz, are you interesting in selling those hubcaps? I have a set for my own Meteor, but they are not in great shape, how do yours look up close? I`m in BC.
