In the attempt to satin/ semi gloss my car from the belt.line down, what is the best formula to achieve that. Essentially how much flatter do you add? Is there a good ratio? 4:1:1? Newbie in the painting department . Yes I can do test panels but has someone been down this road before that can help? This is the sheen I am hoping for.
Go to your paint supplier and start some spray outs. I did a 48 AD in green and it took a bunch we lost track on the mix.
PPG....they seem to have real nice satin clear. As a novice Painter....remember what comes out of the gun is all ya get..dirt, runs, excessive orange peel...please get your set up perfect before you turn the gun on your car
Use can use it on any base coat, just spray the SEM Hot Rod Clear on top. It has a great semi gloss shine to it. And yes it is semi gloss right out of the gate, comes in quart kits- give it a try you will be very pleased...
The new PPG DSC5250 clear is perfect for the look your after. Glasurit has a nice one too I cant remember the number 929-??? but it's big bucks for a learning project. I have not shot that SEM clear but they normally have good products so that would be a good option as well.
