More like an altered, maybe AA/A depending on engine size. Didn't Malcom Durham have one?

 

That was probably actually a Altered and not a funny car. Just a guess on my part.

 

Just going off the year of the picture 67ish. I would say more on the funny car side but hell I could be wrong I have no real info.

 

Well Chrisman had a topless flopper in that era but his didn't have doors. it could have run funny ranks as easy as not.

 

Well I'm trying to build this car off of two pictures. Not an easy task. I'm pushing for the the California hot rod reunion. In October. Any donations will be excepted. Lol just kidding.

 

The funny car class came into its self very fast. Evolution. Trial and error.

 

I think that early one you could enter in funny class with a car that could qualify in altered class. The one thing that one had to watch like today is that they did not outclass themselves. Drag racing is like the ultimate he-man competition, (pre mixed martial arts) just because they will let you in the ring doesn't mean that you should be in the ring.
