Worked in the cowl/a-pillar last night. Made a new cowl transition piece and welded it to the a-post skin. Still figuring out the shape a little bit, but I think I like where it's going!
Not much recent progress, but I picked up a nice '35 Olds dash today! Really been wanting one of these for a while now, so it'll probably end up in the coupe.
Welded up the drivers side A pillar tonight, and then cut out the cowl top.. To be replaced. More a coming.
Picked up these rad Lyons caps in a trade the other day.. Love em! I've been super motivated to work the coupe recently, so there will be more updates coming up!
Yeah Joe, I saw that you've been doing a little house cleaning in the classifieds recently, any updates? change of direction plans?..
Hey guys, thanks for your interest! I left my job at the shop I had been working at. I am branching off to starting my own shop, Mann Automotive. I've been selling everything that's not nailed down, and doing whatever I can to start my business! At this point I have no real idea what will happen, how it'll work, or anything. But I know what I want to do with my life, and I can't ignore that! On another note, I set a personal goal to have my coupe at the California Race of Gentlemen this year. Come hell or high waters. ....My flathead isn't built, the chassis is only about 75% figured out, and I don't own about half of the tools I need to complete the body work. One foot in front of the other. Joe Mann
Just came up from the shop.. Spent the second half of the day setting stuff up, putting up new lighting, and making a drill press stand. Also I scored a drilled '34 wishbone that I will lengthen and modify to work with my slightly lengthened '32 frame. Thats all for now. Cheers Joe
Depends on who you ask... But to make it clear, I'll just say that 3w coupes have longer doors... I've been super busy recently, making connections, getting work lined up. And I even landed a shop! It's a 960 square ft. metal building that is just perfect for now and super affordable... Did I mention it's right next door on my neighbor's property?!
Rad! Any thought on rounding the A pillar top corner on the door? Such a hard edge on a nice round sculpted body.
