Don"t have any pictures as it was over 50 years ago but my great uncle had a black 51 Ford Victoria he bought new, I was like 12 when he bought a new 63 Comet and retired the Ford to his back yard. I bugged him for years to sell me the Vicky, he always said maybe someday he would give it to me. Same old story, he died while I was in the army in the early 70's, I came home and his daughter had give it to a scraper to get rid of it.

Ain't got nothin' to do with scrapping cars, Wolf. Its about dangerous loads. The trailer's plenty, the truck isn't. All trucks have a weight limit, btw. The way those cars are chained is ignorant & stupid dangerous. Around here, that guy'd be on the side of the road waiting for something like my F600 to come bail his ass out, wondering how he'll pay the fines when scrap's worth $60 a ton. I can't even tell you how many cars I've scrapped, but my F350 or F600 trucks were never overloaded or secured like that idiot's. ;)

  6. Ive got a 66 chevy 3/4 ton and We commonly hauled 6500 pounds of feed in the bed. and 7500 a few times. Around here 3/4 ton trucks pull gooseneck trailers hauling bulldozers backhoes logs and cattle that weigh lots more than those old cars do. Its all just a matter of opinion. I drove semi truck for more than 40 years. The DOT is mostly about generating revenue. One thing for certain No body will have to worry about that load of rust buckets setting and rotting.

Has it been chopped, or do the lines in the roof just make it look like it?
