Technical Engine adapter to early Ford engine...but what engine?

    Had a friend bring this over to the shop today to see if I could identify it for him. The unit looks like it has never been used but I have no clue what engine it fits. It has no identifying numbers or manufacturers name. Maybe Y-block Ford? All I know for sure is it is not SB Chevy!! And I am sure it is made to adapt to early Ford transmission. Any HAMBers who can help me help my friend? Thanks in advance!! C-dog

    The starter mount says Flathead to me.

    Is it cast iron or aluminum?

    It is cast aluminum. If its 337 Lincoln I can verify that cause I have a bare block in my shop to check it with. Never dreamed it could be that!

    image.jpeg Looks a lot like it. Maybe this is it 1962 catalog top starter bolt to top looks the same? I have a y block one out in garage will check it in the morning image.jpeg

    Is the one you think it matches the Caddy or the Buick?

    It does not look like the 337 to early Ford McBar LF-40 adapter to me.
