I didn't fill a single part of the chop with lead, just welded it very very slowly, and when I say that I mean 9hrs to weld the chop in, mig welded. I mig sheetmetal very hot, for lots of penetration, but only 3-4 tacks in the 1 area at a time...

Cheers man, much better than the ugly first one I did!!

Not a bad view at 3:20am... Sitting here trying to get funky with the K member, picking up the top trailing arm and the coilover, and still tying the top of my kicks together to try an satisfy the authorities...

After a little bit of messing around with my pipe bender Saturday morning, I ended up with half a K member that I'm kinda liking... I needed to pick up my top trailing arm and coilover, so I think I've achieved the most weird and wonderful way too! Ha ha
I should also explain I do a fair bit of pipe work at my daily job, so when I get free reign I like to make things that confuse the eyes haha. Also don't mind the X brace still there, that'll be removed shortly...

Bit more progress on what I'm calling my 'K'onfusion member haha. I got the drivers side top trailing arm mounted, another piece to brace that mount, which will flow over the diff to the others side, and also started the replication process on the passenger side... Starting to really like the look of it but also doubting my chances of registration... I cannot wait to have to whole K'onfusion member done to take those fucking braces off! But paranoia won't let me just yet
I'm also incredibly happy with the service I got at Unisteer. They are going to custom make me a RHD center steer unit at no additional cost! So once the rears done, that's been made m, shipped and mounted it'll come off the bench and I'll finally get to put the body on. I'm hoping for that just over a month and abit away!

The further I get into this build the further I realize it's not really HAMB material, but none the less...

The L frame is now completely fabbed up tailshaft loop in, all suspension points are done. Now I'm just waiting an oil pan so I can put bars underneath the oil pan and also receive and mount the RHD Unisteer Center steer R&P, which is probably a month or so away, then the chassis will be complete!

Onto the body tomorrow, and getting it ready to put on the chassis!!

  14. Shit, I like it so far.
I like hairpins better than four bars up front, but I can live with em here.
Big block Chevy's are great, but not exactly trad, but show me a car guy who doesn't get a buzz from the sound and feel.
The pipework is cool, not trad? Nothing to say a pipe worker dude in the forties didn't build a bitchin Hot Rod, with trick pipework.
And the body will cover it.
Front discs, kinda frowned on here, but disc brake were invented in the late 1800. So they have been around for over a century.
The body looks like it could be right at home, on a pre 65 chassis.

So its all down to how you finish it, that'll be the decider on how much it fits in here.
If you finish it trad style, yourll not please everyone, but I recon it could be awesome.
If you go Street Roddy billet smootho, that'll kill it for me.

Only my take on it, others won't agree I'm sure.
I hope this build carrys on here, cause I'm enjoying it so far.
    Carry on. ;)

I hope you take off the roadster top rests off the trunk. Too many people think they are hand holds for the rumble seat. It bothers me to see them on a coupe. thank for all the great pictures of the chop!!
