I was in Manhatten Saturday to look at the holiday windows and such. I never expected to see this cool truck parked on 45th Street and 5th Avenue.

I think I have seen that truck parked in lower Brooklyn. The cars parked nearby were mostly OT car guy cars. It looked like a car guy neighborhood. Just saw them while on the subway to Coney Island. Subway is above ground down there.

When I first built my Deuce roadster they were redoing the Belt Parkway and the Staten Island Expy. Everybody told me that it was a "minefield" and to avoid it at all cost. The Cross Bronx Expy. had tractor trailer ruts and my car was too low for it. My wife and I went right thru Manhattan, across 42nd St. and thru the Lincoln Tunnel. I can't begin to tell you about the look's and comments we got at every red light. I have to look for that truck, I'm in that area of manhattan often, I notice that it has historical plates on it.

Here are muscle cars roasting tires in Times Square. Happy New Year. LOL!!! Is there a whole underground hot rod culture in the best city in the world or what???? I know the Boros are deep in Hot Rod tradition, but Manhatten? Fahget bout it!

Cool old truck sitting there. I would've done a double-take as well.

(r.e. the video) That must be the right time to be there. Each time I was in that area, it was wall to wall cars, cabs and people ! Wish I could've seen those guys smoking them off ...

  9. I like seeing the occasional 50s cabs you see every so often.

  10. Awesome! That reminds of when I lived in NJ and we would do cruises in an out of NYC and would tear it up. Lots of fun and a pretty good car culture in those areas, lots of good shows!

I was there this summer. Saw 4 pickups in 4 days. Kind of weird for a Texas guy. BTW, the people were great.

Drove big rig in the '60s. Laid over in NYC for 3 days, couldn't get a load.
Never so happy to get out of a place in my life.

7a.m. in the Summer. Probably a Saturday or Sunday morning.

Why the hell did you drive down? No trains from your part of Connecticut?
