    so here is the first mock up of the willys gasser build. i had built a straight axle with the original stock axle...it didnt end up working. couldnt get the wheels to attach to the front end, so i scraped it and started over on the front axle. also went with a different set of wheels than the box set wheels...but i also changed those aswell.

    so here it is. pretty much complete. just need to throw on paint, decals and clear it. right now its in primer...or at least thats what i thought at first. i didnt research painting models very well, but i used Testors "grey semi-gloss primer" Enamal. i then started to dry sand also going to build a rollcage, possibly make some other small details; racing harness, plug wires, radiator hose, etc. for paint, im going with Testors "gloss bright lime" Enamel. for anyone with some advice, what is the best paint to use for models? ive only ever used testors enamal paint for everything. i am open to new suggestions.

    hood on. different wheels. back wheels are box stock and front wheels are from parts box.

    front view. added the moon tank. going to add moon eyes to tank. need to add head lights.

    the straight axle. i built it out of a broken axle. found two leafs and an axle piece and stuck them together.

    interior view. painted testors enamel flat steel with gloss sublime green stripe and flat black floors

    was a fun build. made a pro-street willys into a gasser. not much modification. my first build in a long time. first of many to come.

    I'm looking for a Riley two port head in 1/25 scale. Does anybody know of a source for resin ones? If not I would be interested in buying one, if some one has a left over from a kit.
    Thanks and take care, Tool Roomer

    Milo1303;
    I already have two of the kits you pictured, they both have the Winfield flathead. I guess it's time to start scratch building one. Thanks.

    The Riley two port is in the 31 sedan kit from Revell. It has been issued many times over the years and was reissued fairly recently. Should not be very difficult to find at all.

    I have one from the Revel 31 kit that I am not using right now,I do have a 29 roadster that it would look good in but that one I was planning on a flathead V8 but could be talked out of it with a Y block or Studebaker V8.

    Been working on 1/8 scale stuff and creating new 3D printed parts. One of my recent parts is this Man A Fre intake and American Graffiti headers. In the process of creating a parts pack for the Milner five window coupe for the 1/8 scale. Have a dozen or so new wheel designs from 3D print. IMG_2156.JPG

    Parts arrived for the 40 standard today but I will finish the 36 coupe first,the fenders,hood and grille are from the original early 60s kit and the rest is new except for the Y block that loos to be from a old kit too.
