    I have always prefered red oxide primer when I was leaving a car in primer,but prefer grey primer when blocking/prepping for paint...

    Gotta agree with " rusty rocket" I painted some 32 doors today in ppg grey primer and thinned it more and laid it on pretty wet and dang it did have a good shine. Though it won't be permanent as we all know straight primer is porous . I hit it with a short term colour to seal it off, till the final satin top coat goes on .
