20150524_212144.jpg 20150612_205557.jpg 20150524_212158.jpg ok, so time for an update of some of the recent work. Gary Maxwell from blackboard hot rods built me an amazing frame. Can't say enough about his great work and his welding skills are top notch! I also bought some trick backing plates for the front Lincoln drums :)

rims brought to you by a 1940 ford frame that a friend was discarding. I also finished taking the whole body apart into pieces that could be worked on. A little sweat and blood from a knee that I stabbed on some remnants of a sub rail.... oh yeah and some cursing. IMGP0321.JPG IMGP0329.JPG

a little before and after of the fire wall. Not a complete smoothie, but wanted to get rid of some of the unnecessary holes to clean it up.

and some work to the front cowl. It looks pretty solid, but of course after sandblasting there were some pitted areas. Those areas have been cut out and replaced with new metal.

    More updates please.

  13. A really nice start! That would have made a great parts-car for my old 5 window....especially the back window and back half of the quarters.

  19. Chris, Looks like you are on a great roll......It is looking good and will make a great hot rod. Keep the photos coming.
May I ask what you done with the old frame rails? You know they make a great body stand you can bolt your body on and roll it around while you finish the frame. Just a little food for thought as while building my 3 window I wish I had something like that.

some more progress on the metal work, starting to look like a window again :) I'm amazed at how much original metal we were able to keep, just had to replace the square patches under the small side windows and the metal inside the wheel housings. The rest of the original quarter panels was pretty good and cleaned up nice.

I wish I could take credit for the metal work, but a friend has done most of it. I just offer, support and rum at this stage, haha
