Have a flathead and 35 box to go into a model A chassis.

Don't have a diff, but will prob get a stock model A diff to make it a runner.

Have been told the model A torque tube bolts direct to the back of the 35 box, only the clamshell needs changing.

I do not have either here to look at , and am doing 5 swap meets next month and leaving this friday so am on the hunt.

Does anyone have any side by side pics of an A and a V8 clamshell, or a pic of a V8 one with details on what to look for ...

I believe he's referring to the piece that bolts to the closed drive tranny, from the torque tube.

If no answers soon, I bet the folks at www.fordbarn.com will set ya up.

I did this once, the V8 clam shell fits right on the A torque tube.

The V8 from 35 on up is a two-piece design with four bolts to hold it to the trans. The 32-34 design also has four bolts, but it's one-piece and can't come off the torquetube without cutting. All the A's have six bolts.

Thanks all, this is enough info to be able to hunt it down if it's there.
