always my favourite part of the HAMB. Been meaning to contribute for some time, glad I finally got something done as the Art Show has been getting smaller lately. Good work all, I'll try and do a pic every week.

I do have something on topic but was hesitant to bring it out but decided what the heck. This is just a quick acrylic sketch I did the other night, an experiment based on a vintage photo.

Oldie but GOODIE, Gary!

 

I want to share some more of the wonderful artistic work done by the HAMB’s own “Jigger”, Mark Ervin. As you know, he is multitalented but you likely did not know his daughter carries the same trait. Since Mark had done several car and pinup girl things for me in the past, I asked him to tackle yet another fun project, a wedding “sign-in” board for my youngest daughter’s wedding. I sent Mark our daughter’s engagement photos and asked him to "cartoon-ize" her and her soon-to-be-husband on the wooden 2’ by 2’ board I made. I also asked him if he could “pretty it up” by adding the date and some floweredy stuff.

Mark drew our daughter and her husband-to-be Matt; his daughter took care of the flowers and stuff. As usual for Mark, it is a remarkable likeness and you can also see the influence of some of his cartooning from the past. This was exactly what I was after. I think you’ll agree that Mark can do some terrific things and if his daughter continues on, she too, will go far.

My wife and I are still recovering from the wedding but wanted to publically say thanks to Mark and Abby and recommend that other HAMBers that might be getting married soon (or having kids getting married), consider asking any of the talented HAMB artists what they can do to make the special day even more special. They will not let you down. Mark and Abby made us very happy

Thanks to the HAMB for putting all the artists out their for all of us non-artistic type to use.

Thanks Tom, it was my honor my friend. All done with regular tipped sharpies... I keep suggesting Abby get a set of One-Shot brushes and a set of starter paints but se’s been reluctant. Painting on canvas and sketching in graphite are her thing.

Thanks wrayman and Zapata. Yea, she makes me proud, not just by her wrk but the whole of her as a person. In her 3rd year at UNL, she plans on making a career of this.
